Taxi to the Revolution

Julio Cortez gave up everything to join the Salvadoran revolution as a teenager, a revolution that became a war that raged for 12 years. Today, 20 years after the signing of the peace accords, he drives a taxi in San Salvador and helps young people to get out of street gangs, a crime epidemic that is destroying lives and destabilising the nation. Take a taxi ride with Julio as he tells you his remarkable life story, the story of El Salvador’s violent recent history as he lived it, and of a revolution that for him and many others continues today on a different front.
